She works mostly hands-off, gathering real moments as they unfold while offering light guidance during portraits so couples feel comfortable and fully themselves. Drawn to the history, tradition, and love each couple brings, Abbey creates photographs that feel deeply personal and entirely their own.
Her work is rooted in presence over perfection, leaving space for meaningful moments to happen naturally.
Based in Grand Rapids, Abbey spends her time chasing after her two-year-old son with her husband close by. In quieter moments, she loves quilting, a craft passed down by her mom and grandmother. Becoming a parent has deepened her appreciation for how fleeting time is and how powerful photographs can be in helping us remember it. She is endlessly grateful to document love stories and create heirlooms meant to last for generations.
